The Davis House Inn is located in the quaint river front city of Sebastian, an Eco lovers destination of choice. Set along the Indian River in the Atlantic Coast of Central Florida, you‘ll find us equal distance between the cities of Melbourne & Vero Beach.
We are a short drive from the barrier Islands, the Atlantic Ocean, A1A & Sebastian Inlet . Within 15 minutes you can be walking the golden sands. Bring your metal detector and comb the beach for artifacts lost in the sinking of the 1715 Spanish Fleet, after all this is the Treasure Coast. From May - November you can see the nesting sea turtles tracks along the Archie Carr National Seashore. Sebastian Inlet State Park, recognized for champion surfing and fishing and one of the world’s top 20 Inlets, is a popular year round spot for swimming, fishing, boating, surfing and manatee watching. Sebastian, itself, is best known as the home of Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge, America’s first National Wildlife Refuge.
The Davis House Inn is located in the heart of the Historic Riverfront District of Sebastian. Across the street from Squid Lips Restaurant & Fins Marina and 3 blocks North of Hiram‘s, where you can dock your own boat, get a rental or even hop on a boat tour to take a scenic ecological tour of the Indian River, one of the most diverse estuaries in North America. Get an up close look at manatees, dolphins and Pelican Island. “The Walking Tour of Sebastian” is available 24/7 and is just outside our doors. A short journey south will lead you to Mel Fisher’s Historic Treasure Museum, dockside dining, live entertainment, shopping and to Riverside Park complete with picnic tables, boat ramps, fishing docks, and seasonal art and craft shows. Sebastian’s paved and lighted sidewalk makes strolling along the waterfront easy and safe.
The Sebastian River area is serviced by several airports. Orlando International Airport and West Palm Beach Airport are only an hour and a half drive away, and the Melbourne International Airport is only a twenty minute drive.
To arrive by automobile:
Driving on I-95, exit on the Sebastian/Fellsmere exit. Turn on CR 512 to head towards Sebastian (approximately 9 miles east of the exit).
After your 9 mile journey on CR 512 you will cross the railroad tracks and come to an intersection with a stop light. This is U. S. One. Take a left at this light and head North on U. S. One just over a mile. Turn right on Davis Street, and go just over one block. Davis House Inn will be on your right, 607 Davis Street. We are the only three story mansion on this street.
If you prefer the more scenic route, go through the 512 (aka, Sebastian Blvd), U.S. One intersection and head towards the water. Take a left at the next intersection (Indian River Drive). Head North driving trough the riverfront district. Please do not speed and do watch for crossing pedestrians. Go approx 1.3 miles; you will find Davis Street on your left.
Point of interest:
The drive South from the Melbourne area on U.S. One, bringing you along the Indian River Lagoon, has been named one of the most beautiful scenes on the east coast. The drive is just as quick as on I-95 and much more spectacular. U.S. One brings you right into the heart of the City of Sebastian where you can pick up Indian River Drive which goes all along the riverfront.
